20 Dec 2024
I have been privileged as ILDS President to attend many dermatological meetings and connect with inspiring dermatological professionals across the globe. I am always humbled to witness the incredible dedication of each and every one of you and hear about your tireless efforts to enhance skin health for the world. Together, our unique and growing global community is changing and improving lives every day.
This year, we celebrated the ILDS’s support of the Pacific Dermatology Training Centre in Fiji, a key step in enhancing dermatological education and care in the Pacific region. We also welcomed new Members to our community, established new partnerships, introduced new projects and enhanced existing projects to both enable and support our members in their own work.
Our increased efforts to champion dermatology on a global scale have led to some fantastic press coverage of key dermatological news and initiatives – read our 2024 highlights and learn more about our new partnership with The Dermatology Digest here. With your support, we hope to shine even more spotlights on global dermatology in 2025 - find out how you can help in the January ILDS Newsletter where we will reflect on the highlights and achievement from 2024 and look forward to 2025.
As always, our work would not be possible without the exceptional support of our industry partners, patient organisations and member society donors. Our official relations with the WHO is also essential in influencing global policy to ensure dermatology remains a priority. We take this opportunity to thank each and everyone one of them for their continued partnerships. We also express our sincere gratitude to the ILDS Secretariat, under the leadership of CEO Arpita Bhose, for their ongoing support.
I remain dedicated to serving as your President and am sure that 2025 will bring many positive outcomes for the dermatological world as we all work towards #SkinHealth4theWorld.
With best wishes for a very happy holiday season,
