International Awards for Social Responsibility in Dermatology
30 November 2018
The ILDS is pleased to be part of the 3rd edition of the International Awards for Social Responsibility in Dermatology, in partnership with L’Oréal and the World Congress of Dermatology 2019.
The Awards focus on social initiatives led by dermatologists having a positive impact on patients and people facing dermatological problems in 3 main categories.
- Prevention and education on skin health – Consultations/patient–family information workshops, school campaigns, information campaigns, advice on environmental factors and healthy living, etc.
- Improved quality of life and self-esteem for people facing skin issues – Support and help for patients in accepting their skin condition(s), psychological therapies to help reduce the stigma attached to their disease, etc.
- Access to care, coverage and surgery – Free mole-screening, free consultations, travelling doctors, nurse training, make-up workshops, free reconstructive surgery, etc.
The project must fall within the scope of a social initiative led by dermatologists as individuals, in an association or a hospital. These projects must be focused on patients with the aim of improving their physical and psychological well-being, self-esteem, social integration and skin health, independently from their medical treatment enabling them to re-engage socially.
An independent committee of five dermatologists from the International League of Dermatological Societies Board will select the 5 best projects, one from each of the ILDS geographical regions. The winners will be rewarded with a €20,000 grant.
The Awards winners will be announced during the 24th World Congress of Dermatology on Monday, 10 June 2019 in Milan, Italy.
The application deadline is 4 March 2019. Apply here.
