Become a Member

There are three types of ILDS Members: Member Societies, Affiliated Member Societies and Observer Member Societies.

Member Society

  • A society which represents members from one country
  • Entitled to nominate delegates as society representatives at the Assembly of Delegates General Meeting, subject to Clause 11 of the ILDS Articles of Association
  • Membership Fee is based on the number of your own society members who pay you a membership fee, currently US$1.50 per member, per year

Affiliated Member Society

  • A society which represents members from multiple countries
  • Entitled to nominate one delegate as the society representative at the Assembly of Delegates General Meeting, subject to Clause 12 of the ILDS Articles of Association
  • Membership Fee is currently US$100 per year

Observer Member Society

  • A society which has been established for less than 4 years
  • Observer Member Societies have no voting rights at the Assembly of Delegates General Meeting, but may nominate a representative to attend as an observer
  • Once an Observer Member Society has been in existence for 4 years it will transfer to either a Member Society or an Affiliated Member Society accordingly and will be granted appropriate voting rights
  • Membership Fee is currently US$100 per year

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

New Membership applications will not be considered by the ILDS Board until June 2019.

In line with our Articles of Association the ILDS does not consider Membership applications in the 12 months before a World Congress of Dermatology. The next World Congress of Dermatology will be June 10-15, 2019.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year but will next be considered by the ILDS Board in June 2019. Societies who want to be considered for Membership in June 2019 must submit their completed application by 5pm (GMT) Friday 15 March 2019. Any applications received after this date will be considered at the ILDS Board Meeting in Autumn 2019.

ILDS Sister Society Meetings during the World Congress of Dermatology, 10 June 2019.

If a Society wants to hold a meeting on 10 June 2019 at the World Congress of Dermatology in Milan a completed Membership application must be received by the ILDS by 9am (BST) Monday 15 October. These applications will be reviewed by the ILDS Membership Committee and if they meet the Membership criteria will be accepted for consideration by the ILDS Board in June 2019. The Society will be able to hold a Sister Society meeting on the 10 June 2019 on the understanding that is committed to joining the ILDS once their Membership has been considered by the ILDS Board.

 

Application notes

Check that you are applying for the correct type of Membership.

The ILDS invoices Members annually in January for the 12 month membership year; January-December.

You will be notified to update your Membership details annually on the 30 November. This information is used to calculate your membership fee for the next membership year.

Payment is due on receipt of the invoice. Non-payment can result in suspension of Member benefits, or termination of membership.

Please check you have the following information before starting your application. You cannot save your online application, it must be completed in one session.

  • Details of Society Officers i.e. President, Secretary-General, Treasurer
  • Society Registration Certificate (pdf)
  • By-laws of the Society stating “non-profit” organisation (pdf)
  • Names and affiliations of society Board Members (pdf)
