ILDS Awards
One of the many benefits of ILDS Membership is the opportunity for ILDS Members to nominate their own members to be considered for one of our prestigious ILDS Awards. ILDS Members may nominate for the ILDS Certificate of Appreciation (COA) or ILDS Young Dermatologist International Achievement (YDIA) Awards. Nominated by the ILDS Board, the highest accolade the ILDS can bestow is the ILDS Medal of Achievement in Global Dermatology.
Certification of Appreciation
The CoAs are awarded annually and aim to recognise dermatologists and others in the field of dermatological care who have made an outstanding contribution.

There are many reasons for ILDS Members to consider nominating their members to receive an ILDS Award:
- To receive professional recognition globally among the dermatology community
- To inspire other dermatologists to achieve by highlighting their outstanding work
- Global promotion of their work through publicity via ILDS website/social media/newsletter
- To have an official presentation of their certificate by an ILDS Board Member (where possible)
- In the case of the YDIA Award, to receive a bursary to attend the World Congress of Dermatology

I submitted a nomination for an Award – when will we be informed of the outcome?
Following the deadline for each Award, all nominations received are reviewed and the Awards Committee are invited to submit scores for each nomination based on the information provided in the nomination form. The scores are then collated and Committee recommendations are made to the ILDS Board at the next available meeting where the winners will be approved. As ILDS Board meetings are held twice per year, there may be a delay between submitting your nomination and receiving notification of the outcome. However, you can expect to receive an email with an official notification letter within 10 working days of the date of the Board Meeting they have been approved.
