What is a proxy?
A proxy is a representative chosen by an ILDS Member, who is unable to send Delegates to attend the meeting in person, who will vote and ask questions as per the direction of the Member who named them.
Who can be my proxy?
A proxy can be anyone the Member wishes. This does not have to be an individual from your Society; you can nominate a delegate who is already attending on behalf of another ILDS Member.
E.G. a delegate nominated by Society X can also be nominated as a proxy for Society Y.
Should your Society have more than one Delegate but only one person be able to attend the Meeting the Society can name the attending Delegate as its proxy for the unfilled Delegate places using the Proxy Form.
I have been nominated as a proxy, what does this mean?
You will attend the Meeting to represent the ILDS Member who has named you as their proxy. You will be able to vote and ask questions as per the direction of the Member who named you.
I can only attend one part of the Meeting, can I nominate a proxy to attend the other part of the Meeting?
Yes, you can indicate which part of the Meeting your proxy will attend on the Proxy Form.
Please contact the ILDS Secretariat (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you need to change or cancel your proxy.
