The WCD is held every 4 years by the ILDS. Each WCD is hosted by an ILDS Member organisation. This makes the Congress a unique event that reflects the culture of its host city and showcases the local dermatology community.
The event aims to reflect the current practice and future of dermatology. It provides a great opportunity to build relationships with colleagues from around the world.
The WCD location is chosen through a competitive bidding process and a vote by ILDS Members at the ILDS Annual General Meeting (AGM). Only ILDS Member Societies can bid to host the WCD (this excludes ILDS Affiliated and Observer Societies). See a list of our ILDS Members here.

The ILDS now welcomes ILDS Member Societies to bid for the 27th WCD to be held in 2031. To guide members through the bidding process, a set of guidelines has been created. In these guidelines, information is giving on how to formally place a bid and what to expect in the years leading up to the vote during the ILDS Annual General Meeting in 2027.
